Banking and Finance Law

Potter Anderson & Corroon  regularly represents borrowers, lenders, underwriters, corporate trustees and other participants in a wide range of financing transactions.  In these transactions, we employ our expertise in commercial law, real estate, environmental law, administrative law, securities law, trust law, taxation, bankruptcy and general finance.  These transactions essentially fall into three different categories: traditional commercial lending, municipal finance, and corporate trust services.  

Commercial Lending

Potter Anderson & Corroon represents various business clients as borrowers, and financial institutions as lenders, in many different types of financing transactions, including real estate mortgages, asset-backed loans, securitizations, project financings, lines of credit, and unsecured loans.  These transactions range from small individual entity loans to large multi-million dollar credit and lending packages.  We regularly negotiate, document and render opinions with respect to all types of commercial loan transactions.  Potter Anderson & Corroon has served as lender's counsel to Mellon Bank, PNC Bank (Delaware) and a number of other out of state entities providing project financing in Delaware.

Municipal Finance

Potter Anderson & Corroon regularly represents prominent corporate fiduciaries in Delaware in connection with a wide array of financing and securitization transactions.  These services include traditional trustee and escrow agent services, as well as a multitude of administrative services for alternative entities established in Delaware, in conjunction with the firm's Alternative Entities and Structured Finance practice groups.

Banking

In the banking arena, Potter Anderson  & Corroon provides Delaware compliance and regulatory advice to state chartered and international banks, including representing such banks before the State Banking Commissioner and in a wide variety of banking transactions.
