Dr. Rakesh Mehta is an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group. Dr. Mehta concentrates his practice on all aspects of patent prosecution and drafting patentability, infringement, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions, involving both domestic and foreign prosecution. He has been involved in responding to office actions, conducting reissue and re-examination proceedings, and preparing and arguing appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, and in counseling clients and developing and implementing strategic patent programs. Dr. Mehta is also involved in litigation support.
His fields of practice include chemical, pharmaceutical and mechanical arts. Particularly, he has an extensive background in organic chemistry, polymers, nanotechnology, membranes, particle science, catalysis, coatings, carbon fiber composites and textile fibers.
